Preparation and system input of monthly journal entries and tax accruals; preparation of tax budgets for the FirstEnergy subsidiaries; preparation of annual regulatory reports; and performing basic tax research and making recommendations on the basis of that research; keeping current on the latest tax news and pronouncements available on-line.

Qualifications

Must have a four-year undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting.

Must have the ability to prepare well organized documentation of work performed. Must be self motivated and possess desire to achieve results through self initiative.

2-4 years experience in preparation of tax returns; an understanding of accounting and tax rules sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the function

Prefer a familiarization with Microsoft Office Products including the following computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet preparation, data base management, and electronic presentations.
