Position Description:

Chevron North America Exploration and Production (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for a Craftsman-Instrumentation and Electrical (0608-50160030) located in San Ardo, California through August 24, 2006.

Qualifications:

This position is classified as an O&M position. Candidates will need to have demonstrated qualifications and demonstrated abilities as outlined on the Candidate Evaluation Form. Candidate selection will be performed by a crosss-functional selection team. Candidate is expected to give specific comprehensive examples supporting his/her comments. The San Ardo field is located 25 miles north of Paso Robles California.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Candidate must possess good troubleshooting skills and be able to troubleshoot and determine corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
Knowledge of maintenance of electrical distribution systems and Instrumentation. Knowledge of maintenance of electronic and pneumatic control systems. Knowledge and utilization of maintenance processes for maintenance activity and tracking.

Knowledge of Duties to be performed:
- Candidate must possess good troubleshooting skills and be able to troubleshoot and determine corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
- ISA training: Obtain ISA training and Level I certification within twelve months. Currently possess level 1 CCST certification preferred.

Knowledge of Equipment to be handled:
- Electrical: maintenance of electrical distribution systems; three phase 70KV, 12KV, 4160, 2300, 480V, 120V with knowledge of transformers, breakers, isolation switches, etc. Must have good working knowledge of oilfield equipment and process. Knowledge of NEC code.
- Instrumentation: Maintenance of electronic and pneumatic control systems, PLC troubleshooting, Modicon, Allen Bradley, SCADA (wonderware, control logix) systems, transmitters & switches. Ability to read p&id?s for maintenance buy in to project work. Good working understanding of gauge setting process. Understand communication protocols (Modbus+, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Fiber optic networks).
- Maintenance Processes: Knowledge and utilization of CMMS processes for maintenance activity and tracking. Knowledge of MS word and Excel preferred. Knowledge and understanding of control valves, actuators and associated equipment. Experience with steam generator, boiler and heater treater safety. Ability to maintain, calibrate, and repair 02 controllers. Must perform 60 day, 90 day, and annuals on steam generators.
