ENGINEER I - ELECTRIC SYSTEMS

PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION of the City of Fayetteville, NC is seeking an ENGINEER I for its Electric Systems

-Century old public owned, local operated provider of electric and water utility services

-Largest municipal electric utility in NC and the 37th largest in the nation

-Workforce of 550+

ENGINEER I

Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing sketches/plans/specifications of proposed work projects; performing field work; taking measurements; compiling/analyzing data; meeting with contractors/clients concerning proposed utility services; serving as liason between engineering and construction units; and assisting other engineers.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities include good knowledge of principles and practices of electric engineering; skill lin drawing engineering maps/sketches; be able to perform complex mathematical computations; be able to prepare maps/drawings; possess abillity to interpret blueprints; evaluate and recommend solutions to technical problems; prepare and maintain reports/records and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Graduate of a four (4) year accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Electric Engineering.

2) Must obtain Professional Engineer-in-Training certificate within 24 months in this position.

 

Special Requirement:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver's License when selected for this position.
