Electrical Technician

Relocation will not be provided for this position.  Local candidates are preferred.


The Electrical Technician will play a key role in providing a high degree of technical competence and working knowledge of the current National Electrical Code with responsibility for safety and environmental compliance.


Accountabilities Include:

Participate in pre-job meetings, safety compliance and run tool box safety meetings.
Provide work coordination with other projects and crafts.
Manage daily work schedule utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), providing technical advice and quality control.
Provide leadership and safe practices through the companies operations integrity assurance systems and its components.
Respond to emergency needs in the facilities.
Perform preventative maintenance on low and medium voltage switchgear, motors, power distribution systems, heat-trace systems and HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot and identify equipment problems and obtain any necessary support.
Maintain knowledge of field electrical equipment with the ability to bring to completion any jobs requiring repair.
Review and authorize procedures developed by the team.
Work on power generation systems, and fire and gas detection systems.
Maintain responsibility for safety and environmental compliance.


Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Electrical Technician applicants must have:

Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
A willingness and ability to relocate to or commute to Anchorage, Alaska without company assistance.
A willingness and ability to work a 12-hour day shift with a 1/1 or 2/2 weeks on/off rotational schedule on the North Slope of Alaska.
The ability to routinely lift, carry & push items up to 50 lbs in weight.
The ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders over long periods of time.
The ability to withstand extremes of cold and heat. 
The ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus as needed.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Intermediate or better computer skills using Microsoft (MS) Office products.
A minimum of a 2 year technical school degree or a 4 year apprenticeship program graduate, or in lieu of education, a minimum of 5 years of industrial/petrochemical electrical maintenance experience.
The ability to provide proof of a valid drivers license.
A current Alaska Certificate of Fitness Card as a Journeyman Electrician.


Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

A current State of Alaska Electrical Administrators or Inspectors License.
A minimum of 6 years of experience as a maintenance electrician.
A minimum of 3 years in an industrial or petrochemical maintenance environment.
A current Alaska Fire System Permit Level 1B.
