Equipment Technician

SuperPower, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intermagnetics General Corporation (NASDAQ:IMGC), an international leader in superconductivity and its applications, has an immediate opening for an Equipment Technician.

- Set up & modify equipment using mechanical and electrical skills.
- Perform pressure and vacuum leak test.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Assist in design (print review, order parts, interact with vendors & customers as necessary).
- Select, install, troubleshoot, and maintain thin film manufacturing tools.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain primary hardware components in thin film deposition systems such as r.f. ion sources, r.f. and dc magnetron sputter sources, and e-beam evaporation sources.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain auxiliary components in thin film deposition systems such as substrate heaters, r.f. power supplies, matching networks, stepper motor drives, motion control devices, turbo pumps, roughing pumps, transformers etc ; debug, implement and document procedures relating to software & hardware integration issues.
- Install, and maintain controls & sensors for measurement of ion energy, temperature, high vacuum, flow, motion, strain etc.
- Process Equipment Maintenance - Work with engineers, specialists and scientist to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedule.
- Work with process/equipment control and SCADA systems.
- Source, investigate and list hardware, generate and track purchase order requests needed to complete tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Knowledge of documentation for ISO 9001 compliance, and delivery of development products for production.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Familiarity and experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with testing equipment, including voltmeters, ohmmeters, hi-pot testers.

Required Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or a minimum of 5 years commensurate experience in an industrial environment
