Field Collector position

Florida City Gas a subsidiary of AGL Resources is not content to do business in the same old way. Today, AGL Resources is positioned to become the preeminent distributor of natural gas along the east coast, providing service through six utilities, two gas storage facilities and an asset management company.

 

Florida City Gas is currently seeking a Field Collector.  The basic functions of this position are to collect money, or make arrangements for payments, on overdue/delinquent residential and commercial accounts for City Gas Company of Florida (FCG) in Dade and Broward Counties; disconnect service at the customer location if funds not collected or arrangements for payment not made.

 

Representative Duties and Responsibilities:

? Independently, visits residential and commercial customer locations to collect on overdue/delinquent accounts; prior to visit, reviews account history to determine best approach at collection effort.

? Collects money or makes arrangements for payment.

? Disconnects service at the customer location if funds not collected or arrangements for payment not made.

? Leaves notice of attempted collection efforts and discontinuation of service at the customer location.

? Enters results of visit/action taken into hand-held, digital customer information storage device.

? As part of a team, visits difficult-to-access residential and commercial customer locations to collect funds, make payment arrangements, or disconnect service, i.e., "Can't Get In" (CGI) locations.

? Resolves customer service and billing dispute issues when applicable.

 

Education and Experience:

Required:

? High school diploma or GED

? 1-2 years customer service and/or collections experience

? Superior verbal communication skills; including listening, probing, acknowledging, in English and Spanish

? Self-motivated; ability to work unsupervised

? Ability to work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team

? Ability to deal with all types of people; good interpersonal skills
