AES SeaWest, a leading wind energy company, located in Arlington, WY (approximately 45 minutes west of Laramie, WY), is currently looking for an Instrument & Control Supervisor to manage and maintain multiple wind farm SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems and troubleshoot, repair, and maintain multiple meteorological towers, including sensors and loggers.
Responsibilities
This is a skilled, on-call position incorporating analysis, collection, processing and management of data utilizing complex concepts, techniques and models. This position applies electrical and computer knowledge to implement, monitor and repair equipment and systems while supporting the operation and management of wind parks by performing the following functions:
Perform wind turbine and project meter reads via computer access systems and manual reads correlating data and verifying accuracy against multiple sourcesMonitor and update SCADA systems based upon Manufacturers updates and Operations requirementsPerform wind turbine communications system monitoring and troubleshooting based on defined procedures and guidelinesCollect, review, and input data into a proprietary computer processing system and audit the output. May be expected to code data for computer processing and daily reports and perform a variety of related tasksMaintain, document and revise procedural lists, control records and data integrity rulesRely on good judgment to plan and accomplish divisional goals while maintaining focus on the company?s mission and valuesPerform wind turbine and wind performance data collectionPerform common and custom computer and network related tasks per instructions from IT DepartmentScrutinize data and data sources to locate possible discrepancies and erroneous data while implementing methodologies to resolve current and future data problemsDesign and implement complex reports through analysis of operational information targeting company and project needsPerform meteorological equipment monitoring, data collection and data processing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairAssist with wind turbine CPU and electrical systems maintenance, troubleshooting and repairsAssist with training as required by managementDesign and implement complex database models utilizing SQL, Visual Basic and Access query buildersDesign intricate spreadsheets verifying calculations and accuracyDevelop, read and interpret compound algebraic formulas and write and re-write these formulas in software specific applications
Qualifications
Extremely strong MS IT background requiredDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve communications problems with copper and fiber optic rs-232, rs-485, modbus, and tcp/ip systemsExperience performing higher level electrical and control troubleshooting of various systemsGED/HS diplomaValid driver?s licenseAbility to pass a pre-hire physical, a drug-alcohol test, and climb 200 feetPreference will be given to applicants with MS certification, experience with Campbell Scientific loggers, and experience with Siemens SIMATIC IT Historian
