The Land Terminal Operator Trainee will play a key role in the operation of the BP East Hynes/Hathaway Terminal and will be responsible for the safe distribution of products while working an 8-hour rotating shift schedule.


 


Accountabilities Include:

Learning, understanding, and demonstrating competence in terminal operation fundamentals, safe operating procedures, and assigned duties.
Performing safe operation of job duty stations, which includes the management of pumps, motors, compressors, process controls and emergency response.
Practicing continuous learning.
Maintaining job duty qualifications and certifications as required.


Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Land Terminal Operator Trainee applicants must have:

Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
The ability to provide proof of a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
The willingness and ability to relocate to or commute on a daily basis to Long Beach, CA, without company assistance.
The willingness and ability to work an 8-hour rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
The willingness and ability to climb a tank, enter confined spaces and lift up to 25 pounds.
The willingness and ability to commit to wearing personal protective equipment while working in a safety sensitive environment.
The willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.


Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

Pipeline operations and  maintenance or mechanical experience.
Basic level skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
