Managing Supervisor, Dam Safety

-Ensure that Ameren Dam Safety Programs are fully implemented.  Responsibilities include the oversight of regulatory compliance and dam safety project work and ensure completed successfully and in accordance with the quality requirements of Ameren and requlatory requirements of the repsonsible agancies; all with schedule and budget.

-Develop inspection prodedures and lead regular on-site inspections of all facilities mentioned above as described in the Ameren Dam Safety Programs.  These inspections may sometimes include the facilitation and supervision of consultants, and will include structural,geotechnical, and hyrdologic reviews of the facilities.

-Perform risk assessments to prioritize issues during inspections.  Develop remediation or repair plans to correct deficiencies. 

-Lead a team in the development and implementation of dam safety training programs for facility staff and verify that the goals and objectives specified in the Ameren Dam Safety Programs have been met.

-Coordinate FERC Part 12 Inspections, annual FERC Operational Inspections, and all State required inspections for Ameren's dams and Hyrdo facilities. Lead a team of direct reports and outside consultants in the independent review and approval of proposed facility modifications.

-Work collaboratively with the hydroelectric plant management and staffs to ensure dam safety and regulatory compliance.  Review and evaluate facility Emergency Action Plans and Drills.

-Interact with and respond to other Power Operations groups, vendors, contractors,architect/engineering firms, and internal customers.  Directs at staff of engineers and other personnel to complete the above activities.  Provides regular delegation, coaching, feedback, and development as needed for assigned staff.

 

Position Requirements:

Education--Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university required.  Professional Engineering (P.E.) License also required.

 

Experience--Fifteen or more years of relative work experience in the investigation, design, construction, operation, and project managment of Dam Safety and Hydro Engineering required.

 

Other--Must posses good analytical, communications and human relations skills.  Some overnight travel required.  After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g. interview) designated for this position.
