METEOROLOGIST (ENERGY TRADING) (4660)

Responsibilities:
Candidate will act as one of the primary sources for internal Meteorological information within the Energy Trading Department. Provide daily analysis of weather patterns using the most robust numerical weather prediction data packages and techniques available and communicate forecast information regarding its energy market impact. Support the 24/7 trading and asset management operation with the latest and most updated weather information. Provide, through daily weather forecasts, the necessary weather information so that traders and risk managers can make the most informed economical decisions

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related science and at least 5 years of experience in the field of operational forecasting including forecasting experience in a wide variety of climates across the continental United States; energy experience is highly preferred. Must have the ability to analyze, interpret and effectively communicate market sensitive weather information in a fast paced environment. Must also possess a broad understanding of the various weather models and be capable of developing weather forecasts for the continental United States.
