Pipeline Project Manager

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a top 30 ENR design firm with over 40 offices nationwide has an immediate need for a Pipeline Project Manager in its Alexandria, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or Anchorage, Alaska offices. Michael Baker's pipeline history includes the mile-by-mile design of the 800 mile Trans-Alaska Pipeline, considered one of the greatest engineering and construction feats in modern times.

Requirements include a four-year, accredited engineering degree or equivalent in work experience; ten-plus years experience with a natural gas or liquids pipeline company, industry consultant or regulatory agency in areas of pipeline design, metallurgy, or corrosion control; in-depth knowledge of CFR Title 49 Parts 192 and 195, ASME 31.4 and ASME 31.8; and, pipeline integrity management operations and regulatory interface. Experience with arctic pipeline and civil design desirable as well as broad project management experience. PE certification desired; PMP certification a plus. Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills are necessary for preparing technical reports; interfacing with pipeline operators, trade organizations, industry experts and regulators; as well as conducting and coordinating pipeline integrity-related studies. Qualified candidates must be self-directed and able to work in a virtual environment; must be able to work with and direct sub-consultants; must have contacts within gas and liquid pipeline industry. Periodic travel required.

The incumbent supports major pipeline study efforts on integrity-related issues and supports Baker's pipeline practice nationwide, including providing technical and engineering support to Baker's arctic pipeline initiatives.
