We are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Bakersfield, CA office.
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for enforcing and upholding all safe work practices and policies, performing monthly safety meetings in respective areas, and promoting and modeling safe behaviors throughout the Division. The Safety Coordinator will schedule training for all personnel including First Aid, STOP, Defensive Driving, etc., maintain summary of incidents that occur in respective areas, and prepare all materials for Behavior Justification Model (RCFA) in order to present to Management Team. The Safety Coordinator will perform monthly inspections of trucks, rigs, wireline units, production test units, coil tubing units, facilities, etc, DOT and BIT inspections, and provide corrective actions, review inspections with the District Manager in order to make appropriate repairs and or changes required to bring equipment into compliance, report all incidents, near misses according to reporting procedure, perform on-site investigations of all incidents for medical, light-duty, lost time, and fault vehicle incidents to determine root cause, and prepare incident report for review by the District Manager and HSE Director.
Successful candidates will have an AAS or BA degree in Safety/Risk Management (or equivalent degree). 3-5 years experience in a safety related field or a combination of education/experience. Related safety training (First Aid, CPR, Confined Space, etc.), knowledge of all Federal, State and local safety regulations, incident investigation experience and knowledge of DOT and BIT inspections. Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills written/verbal with the ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations on various safety related topics. Oil field related experience, Associated Safety Professional Certification, Class A or B Driver?s License, heavy truck experience, and knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier requirements are preferred.
