Utility Locate Technician

Central Locating Service LTD is expanding and is seeking Utility Locate Technicians to work in Charlotte, Lee and Collier Counties, FL. These positions are great for people who enjoy driving local roads, working outdoors and operating independently. Locators are responsible for the correct, safe and efficient locating and marking of underground utilities, according to the Standard Operating Procedures of the company. This includes taking the time to thoroughly search for underground plant in an area, to properly mark the location, to complete the necessary paperwork, and to photograph each locate. Locators are also responsible for a company truck, Dell laptop computer, Nextel phone, gas card and other equipment.



Direct experience is not necessary, but you must have recent experience working outside. Applicants without prior outdoor experience will not be considered.



The starting pay can range from $9.50 - $12.50 per hour pending previous work experiences. Previous locating experience may warrant a higher hourly pay rate.



These are day time positions, but overtime is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report.

? Must be able to read a map and able to use a computer.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (e.g. manhole covers or similar items) as required by the particular job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
