This position can be located in Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA.

Summary of Position Duties:

In this position you will have the opportunity to be a Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer for Environmental Projects and fossil plant I&C retrofit projects. Responsibilities include: Project technical content and control of project budget and schedule. Being responsible for total I&C design providing leadership to a team of engineers and designers for the successful execution of major I&C design projects. Oversee the development of technical I&C specifications, functional control diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions, and operation and technical manuals. Lead boiler control DCS configuration efforts (design and implementation) including digital interfacing of systems. Be responsible for scoping new I&C projects and developing associated total costs for plant budgets.

Education & Job Experience: BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering highly preferred. An Advanced Degree (MS or MBA) or a PE license is a plus. Prior experience in instrumentation and controls in the power industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Operational knowledge of boilers and auxiliaries, boiler control strategies, digital communication methods, instrumentation and installation requirements, and burner safety systems. Proven ability to successfully build and lead a team toward a common goal. Proven project management experience, problem solving and analysis skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
