International Company in Birmingham, Alabama seeks Plant Engineer 

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing a MUST

Supervisory experience

Must be willing to take part in the on-call weekly rotation

Must be innovative, organized, creative, dynamic, and hands-on

Knowledge of Autocad, Excel, Word, and Access.

Excellent verbal and written communication

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Supervision of the Maintenance Department

 

Improve production operations and uptime through mechanical and procedural design changes

 

Repairing and maintaining equipment and machines to assure safe and efficient operation is required to maintain uptime goals including preventive maintenance (PM) schedules

 

Provide technical support to maintenance, production and train employees

 

Design and installation of safety requirements according to OSHA standards

 

Knowledge of AC/DC and be able to troubleshoot AC/DC drive systems and components utilizing schematics and meters including having working knowledge and troubleshooting experience of three phase, single phase, and control circuits.

 

Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics along with having working knowledge and troubleshooting of PLC systems and components to include reading and interpreting PLC Ladder Logic

 

Trouble shooting, repairing and/or replace all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components on equipment

 

Participating and maintaining Continuous Improvements (5S, Kaizen,)

 

Maintaining listings of all equipment within the plant to ensure description and documentation while maintaining a data base with working frequencies

 

Communicate and negotiate routinely with vendors and contractors to ensure best pricing

 

Recommend solutions in accordance with all company goals and objectives
