Designated Operator

Gilbarco Veeder Root is currently recruiting for a Designated Operator for the Southern California region.

Purpose of Position

Primary function is to conduct monthly inspections at retail gasoline facilities to ensure facility compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations as specified by the United States Code of Federal Regulations 40 CFR, California Code of Regulations Title 23, and California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.5.? This includes but is not limited to a through understanding of release detection requirements, remote monitoring, record keeping requirements, and underground storage tank equipment standards and requirements.? Must successfully complete the ICC certification for California State UST Designated Operator and maintain that certification through reexamination every two years.

??????? Key Responsibilities

???????? Completion of the monthly site inspection for every location within a designated region.???

???????? Completion and distribution of the inspection check list.?

???????? Completion of initial employee training and all ongoing new employee training.?

???????? A thorough understanding of regulations as they pertain to the installation and operation of an underground storage tank retail gasoline facility.?

???????? Familiarity with automatic tank gauge, alarm monitoring, etc.?

???????? Familiarity with forms and other environmental documentation required for the operation of an underground storage tank facility.?

???????? Work with colleagues and client to continually develop process improvement to ensure maximum efficiency with minimum of errors or omissions.?

???????? A through understanding of Gilbarco/Veeder-Root services, how they complement each other and what value they do or may have for a customer.???

???????? Provide training for new employees.? This includes in-depth training and auxiliary training through daily association with new employees or co-workers.

???????? Knowledge of ORACLE Database and other CMS related programs ? including Microsoft Access, and M

Scope and Impact of Position Responsibilities

This position requires that an associate to complete the required monthly inspection for all facilities within a designated region.? This is a zero defect position.? The inspection must be completed.? Notably, this position requires significant driving daily.? Requires significant organizational skills to coordinate inspections and distribution of associated inspection form.? These activities allow us to provide 100% compliance with state regulation for our clients.?
