Manager, Environment

  Plans, manages and implements company environmental regulatory compliance with all federal, state and local agencies as well as develops and maintains environmental programs.

 
Provides support for the further development, implementation and the maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS). 
Serves as liaison between business area management, vendors, operational personnel and regulatory agencies. 
Provides technical consultation to multi-location company personnel on matters relating to Federal, state and local environmental regulations. 
Manages and provides direction to contracted vendor personnel.
Manages the remediation program and the environmental due diligence program. 
Responsible for the performance of environmental assessments, spill response and emergency response program.
Develops and implements training and educational programs related to environmental programs. 
Prepares periodic reports and analyses. 
Manages the maintenance of computer programs and databases for management of environmental programs. 
Drives, implements, sustains, and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations and customer service.



Requirements: 



Bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to Safety and Health.  Accredited professional certification degree preferred.


Management experience with responsibility for hiring, training, evaluation and development of staff. Minimum seven (7) years experience in a multi-location national/international environmental compliance arena.


Certified Hazardous Materials Manager CHMM and/or Registered Environmental Manager ( REM ) is preferred.

Leadership experience as an initiator, program manager or group leader of a project or program.  Strong communications, presentation, training, technical writing skills and analytical skills. 

Trend analysis, budget projections and team building experience.

Travel at least 50% of the time.
