Project Geologist – Environmental

Lindmark Engineering, a CPS Environmental Group company, is an established environmental consulting firm located in Long Beach, California. Lindmark Engineering was founded in 1987 and specializes on soil and groundwater investigations and remediation, often of complex nature. In order to meet the needs of our growing backlog we are looking for an Project Geologist to serve projects primarily in the Southern California area

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

? Manage field portions of project tasks; play major role in report preparation; prepare first draft of major reports, including findings and conclusions

? Prepare drafts of proposals and cost estimates

? Work on a limited number of site assessment and groundwater monitoring projects as project manager, including cost management on such projects

? May aid senior staff in scheduling of staff

? Attend client and regulatory meetings with senior staff and principals and make limited presentations

? Familiarity with any type of fieldwork within his/her area of expertise

? Attend professional meetings as company representative and perform limited marketing functions

? Assist in training staff

? Perform limited technical review of reports within his/her area of expertise, including QA/QC of text and data

? Supervise assistant and associate-level geologists

? Interpret field data to produce cross-sections, contaminant plume contours and potentiometric surface maps

? Responsible for analysis and execution of various field operations, including groundwater monitoring, drilling, soil-gas sampling, well installations, and aquifer tests

? Develop site conceptual and/or groundwater flow models

Required environmental experience:

? Soil, soil-gas and groundwater investigations

? Investigations of gasoline compounds, chlorinated solvents, and heavy metals

? RWQCB and DTSC projects

? Brownfield investigations

Important Evaluation Criteria:

? Understanding of restrictions imposed by budget, schedule, and contract stipulations

? Written and verbal presentation skills; accuracy of material prepared

? Ability to guide and work with staff

? Understanding of Local, State and Federal regulations

Degree/Licensing: Must have a degree in Geology or Geological/Earth Sciences,

California Professional Registration preferred; at a minimum, must meet requirements to obtain registration within one year of employment
