Sr. Environmental Protection Specialist


GENERAL SUMMARY: Monitors and audits company/client operations on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; works under limited supervision; performs additional duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitors and audits client operations on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for air quality management; 2. Schedules and performs visits to air quality sampling sites to collect sampling data; 3. Records discrepancies and generates reports; 4. Establishes and maintains filing system for air quality reports, permits, and all data collection activities; 5. Maintains related databases; 6. Attends various related conferences, meetings, and seminars; 10. Participates in special projects as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: 1. Associates Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience; Bachelor?s Degree preferred., Experience: Typically requires 5 or more years of related experience; Experience with working at Ft Irwin is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to conduct site visits; 2. Knowledge of basic environmental laws and regulations pertaining to air quality sampling and compliance; 3. Requires Health and Safety certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed at field sites and industrial facilities where proper safety equipment and precautions are required; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment, as well as considerable walking, bending, and climbing.
