The MWH Southern California Natural Resources Industry and Infrastructure operation is looking to augment its staff with an energetic Supervising Geologist, with an R.G. or C.H.G. in the state of California, who will work with project teams on various industrial projects. Related activities may include overseeing field work, interfacing with clients, proposing investigation strategy, analyzing field data and pilot test data, writing reports, and training staff. Description and Responsibilities:
Job may be located in Pasadena, Brea, Irvine or San Diego, California office(s)..
1. Independently select, evaluate, and apply scientific principles and techniques to collect and analyze data needed to assess ground water conditions and soil contamination
2. Conduct field work / lead field teams and direct activities such as drilling & installing monitoring wells, completing hydraulic studies, etc.
3. Organize, draft and coordinate hydrogeologic reports such as various types of site & remedial investigation reports to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
4. Develop new business, including prospective client identification, overseeing proposal development for small to mid sized projects and presentation preparation.
5. Perform project manager duties on small and medium-size projects, or within a major program, including, but not limited to, developing preliminary budgets, determining the scope of work, assigning lower level project staff, establishing schedules, processing appropriate paperwork, reviewing invoices and maintaining client relationships.
6. Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a highly-scrutinized, legal environment. Has demonstrated experience in working with attorney clients.
7. Prepare invoicing and oversee the collection of accounts.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: May require supervisory responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or equivalent. Masters Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology highly desirable.
Registered Geologist in State of California. Certified Hydrogeologist in State of California
8 to 12 years of environmental consulting, and related water resource, hazardous waste or wastewater experience.
Excellent organizational, technical, data interpretation, report writing, communication, public speaking, field skills, computer and detail skills.
Well organized, eager to contribute to the business unit team. Willing to take on a wide variety of field, project management, business development, organizational management, and reporting tasks.
