Controller/Business Manager

We are a fast paced, multi-line GMImport, Multi-locations, Southern California dealership with over 37 years in business.  We offer a complete line of award winning Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC, Pontiac & Hyundai vehicles.  

 

We are looking for an aggressive, experienced Controller / Business manager to help us grow and acquire additional dealerships. The ideal candidate must be self motivated with a stable work history and proven track record of success and team leadership. 

 

 

Basic Job Description

Prepare complete monthly financial statement according to dealership guidelines and within manufacture?s format and time frame.

 

Ensure that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection and co-op advertising are current and accurate.

 

Hire, train, and supervise office personnel.

 

Analyze and organize office operations and procedures.

 

Provides department managers with detailed financial and management reports.

 

Review the general ledger and scheduled accounts. 

 

Insure accounts receivable are current. Notes any unusual entries and investigates.

 

Stay abreast of tax code revisions and advises GM regarding any operational adjustments needed to accommodate revisions.

 

Ensure compliance with all applicable government finance regulations, including filing and/or maintaining of required forms, payroll taxes and deposits, income taxes, etc.

 

Ensure that all office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analyses.

 

Interpret the financial statement and participate in the preparation of short and long term financial forecasts with the department heads.

 

Oversee administration of 401k, medical benefits, workman?s compensation, payroll, new employee, employee termination, and other human resources issues.

 

Daily review of bank deposits and cash reports

 

Requirements

Ideal candidate will posses the accounting skills necessary to do the job as well as the business knowledge and administrative skills to assist the GM and department heads run the business successfully.  ADP experience and strong Excel skills are a plus.
