The mission of the Director of Corporate Development is to identify markets, services and technologies that further the company's strategic objectives, and then evaluate structure, negotiate and close relevant acquisitions and investments or launch new internal project initiatives.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the COO, the Director of Corporate Development will play an important role in all aspects of the company's acquisitions and investments and new project initiatives. The Director will be involved in identifying prospective target and market opportunities, performing strategic and quantitative analysis, and, in the case of acquisitions, conducting due diligence, determining appropriate valuation and structure, developing strategy for and conducting negotiations, driving activities to closure, and coordinating with other business units. On a typical transaction, the Director will be responsible for all aspects of the transaction and will carry out tasks by managing a cross-functional team involving persons from our Business Units and Finance, Legal, Human Resources, MIS, Product Management and Product Development teams.

 

The Director of Corporate Development may also be responsible for business development activities including defining new strategic opportunities and developing partnerships with companies that will increase Go Daddy's product reach or create additional revenue opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

?The ideal candidate for the position should have a BA or BS undergraduate degree, an MBA and/or JD, and five plus years of M&A/Corporate Development and Business Operations experience running all aspects of acquisition and investment transactions.
?A demonstrated track record of achievement is a must.
?Some of a candidate's experience may be drawn from advisory positions in investment banking, venture capital, legal or consulting firms.
?Significant work experience in a corporate (as opposed to professional services) environment is highly desired.
?Strong skills in strategic and quantitative analysis, project management, negotiation, communication and leadership are essential.
?Must also have demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage teams and supervise outside professionals.
?Firm grasp of with Internet/e-commerce companies is a must.
?An understanding of Domain registration and hosting services is desired
