Executive Vice President

Freedom from Hunger, an international nonprofit development organization, is seeking an Executive Vice President. The overall goal of this new position is to lead a process of change management for a growing organization.  The focus will be on improving the management and productivity of Freedom from Hunger in pursuit of its vision, mission, strategies and implementation plans, with special attention to development of the internal leadership potential and coordination of the activities of all management units of the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This position will directly supervise those staff who are responsible for financial management, human resources, administration, information technology, knowledge management, and staff training and professional development functions throughout the organization worldwide.

 

The Executive Vice President also will supervise the Vice Presidents leading the Program Services team and the Communications & Philanthropic Giving team.  Acknowledging the pre-eminent experience and expertise of these Vice Presidents in strategic planning, representation, program design and execution, partnership development and management, communications, marketing and fundraising, the Executive Vice President will provide general oversight in these areas of their work, in close collaboration with the President, but will focus primarily on the design and support of systems for budget planning and management, knowledge management, and staff recruitment, training, supervision and professional development within the specialized teams.

 

Qualifications:

 

MBA or equivalent educational background in finance, administration, or organizational development. Seven to ten years of senior-level organizational management, including extensive financial planning and management experience, in a comparable or larger organization, preferably two or more organizations.  Not-for-profit experience required; additional for-profit organizational experience preferred. Professional experience and commitment to organizational management, not just financial management. Excellent interpersonal and personnel management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Experience in information technology management. Fluency in a second language (Spanish or French) preferred.
