This is a replacement position. The President of Sacramento 2, (who was hired after many mistakes) was successful and has been promoted to be the CEO of Sasco. He now needs to replace himself as the President of Sacramento and had responded to the following ad:

 

Sasco, the largest privately held electrical contractor in the country, which began in 1967, and is the best at what it does, a top 10%er, has an immediate need for a President of Sacramento 2.  The President of Sacramento 2 is ultimately responsible for all reports and oversees all  Financial, Administrative and Computer Technology Functions at Sasco. He will direct, manage and lead the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Technology Officer, and report to the CEO.  This is a great opportunity for the right individual.

 

Applicants should have a strong general financial, computer technology, and executive background and be substantially above average in natural intelligence.  This person must be a leader with his own high standards, driven to accomplish, a self-starter, who knows what he wants, who wants to cause and shape change, and who wants to make a difference.

 Must be self-driven with ability to get things done RIGHT and hold others to high standards with low tolerance for failure.This requires a big picture thinker who is creative and thinks outside of the box. The objective is to always have the figures right, to improve  the processes, and the use of the technology/systems. Correctness of Data is a must.Must be willing to listen, ask questions, and learn.Must be willing to be mentored by the CEO.Must appreciate and respect teamwork and be a successful team leader.Must have desire to be a top 10%er.

 

Requirements:

 This person must understand that to succeed in this position it is imperative that they are a strong leader with high standards and show that. He must also be a good listener, questioner, and learner, and have excellent intelligence.  They will not know Sasco on day one, nor need to, to improve its?  condition, as this is not a ?fix it? job.. The rest will  take time and effort, lots of listening and questions. A desire and ability to lead is definitely required, along with high standards. A bull in a china shop mentality will ensure failure.Exceptional natural intelligence, high standards, and the incurable desire and ability to lead  are imperative.Strong financial and technical background is required in order to manage and lead the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Technical Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer.Sasco has a very high technical orientation.  This candidate does not have to have the technical skill of a CTO but will be the overall leader of that discipline. This person must have a technical background and be able to understand, work with, and promote the use of technology within the company for all systems and at a high level.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  This is not a typical President position. Many of the things said are repetitive. That is because they are the key to success. The standards you bring and your leadership skills are extremely important.  Many other things one might consider, including all the options of being public, all the options of raising capital, all the possibilities of growth have been considered and determined it is not for us?? PERIOD.. While those may be fine experience factors to possess and may help a candidate in terms of overall knowledge, they are not at the root of this position.
