Position Description:

Under general direction of the Director ? Claims Management, responsible for overseeing and managing all workers? compensation and auto liability claims, acting as a liaison between the field, insurance company and counsel. Provides support to all of the AmerisourceBergen companies and subsidiaries.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Performs data analysis of claims activities and provides VP of Risk Management quarterly updates for senior management reports.

2.Audits all billing pertaining to all workers? compensation and auto liability claims programs, including all Monopolisitic State premium billings.

3.Manages all workers? compensation claims that are litigated, ensuring counsel has all necessary documentation; tracks all court dates, mandatory settlement conference dates and/or mediations; acts as liaison between distribution centers, carrier and counsel until resolved.

4.Attends any court proceedings on large exposure claims.

5.Responsible for monitoring and reviewing claims with a reserve greater than $100,000, ensuring the claim is being pushed to closure.

6.Compiles overview of claims at the request of the claims examiner needing authorization to settle a claim; submits to Director of Claims Management for review and approval.

7.Manages all initial EEOC reporting to the insurance carriers upon receipt from Human Resources; reviews all claims with HR Director and field HR Managers.

8.Processes all corporate claims for workers? compensation, insuring all necessary paperwork is complete; calls claim into carrier; keeps examiner and supervisor updated on status of associate; maintains documentation in electronic/paper file.

9.Maintains all accident investigation reports and follows up if not received; compiles a weekly report for the Vice President of Risk Management.

10.Audits all bills and codes to proper locations; enters amount being billed on log; provides a spreadsheet with allocation and check requests for signature; sends to accounting and transportation.

11.Reviews incoming medical reports related to all claims and determines whether action is required or files immediately.

12.Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor?s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

 

1.Strong background in workers? compensation required 2.Working knowledge of workers? compensation laws for all 50 states 3.Working knowledge of insurance company?s RMIS systems 4.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing 5.Strong interpersonal skills 6.Strong organizational skills; attention to detail 7.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
