Portfolio Controller

The Portfolio Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting and investor reporting for assigned funds and separate accounts managed by the Firm.  In this role you will also assist the VP with accounting and financial reporting.

 

Position ResponsibilitiesPrepare portfolio financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Prepare portfolio journal entries and detailed account analysis and reconciliation. Prepare portfolio performance returns in accordance with prescribed standards (NCREIF/AIMR). Maintain database of performance information and assist with production of performance sections of marketing materials. Assist portfolio managers with investor reporting and financial analysis as needed. Prepare and process distributions/contributions to/from investors. Assist external auditors for funds. Monitor compliance with accounting and reporting responsibilities of operating and investment advisory agreements. Assist with business unit budgeting and performance monitoring. Assist with the development of systems, policies and procedures to support continued growth.

     

 

Essential Skills & Experience Bachelor's Level Degree 3-7 yrs. relevant experience Computer proficiency with spreadsheet applications required (PeopleSoft Financials experience preferred) CPA preferred3-7 years of accounting experience required with a combination of public accounting and relevant industry experience preferredTwo or more years experience in commercial real estate accounting and/or audit requiredInvestment Company and/or financial services industry experience preferred Strong technical accounting knowledge required, including knowledge of market value accounting policies, performance reporting
