Senior Tax Analyst

Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) is the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding, safety and related products. Its integrated network of 900 locations includes branches, retail stores, gas fill plants, specialty gas labs, production facilities and distribution centers. Airgas also distributes its products and services through eBusiness, catalog and telemarketing channels.

 

Summary:
We are seeking a person who wishes to undertake a challenging role within a dynamic public company. This candidate will involved with for federal, state and international tax planning and compliance within Airgas.

Will interface with corporate financial, legal, human resources, and corporate development departments.

Major Responsibilities:
?Participate in federal and state income tax compliance, research and planning.
?Coordinate federal and state income tax audits.
?Assist in the quarterly and year-end tax provision calculation including FAS 109 adjustments.
?Responsible for calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments.
?Participate in special projects.
?Engage in tax planning for mergers and acquisitions.
?Participate in acquisition due diligence reviews.
?Responsible for internal maintenance of tax compliance software system.
?Interact with subsidiary financial personnel.

Qualifications:
?Bachelor?s in Accounting, finance or related field required or equivalent education and experience; CPA preferable.
?Strong technical tax analysis and reporting skills and experience.
?Knowledge of federal, state and international tax principals.
?Ability to effectively research Federal, state and international tax issues is a web-based environment.
?Good communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
?Ability to successfully interact with all levels of operating and corporate personnel.
?Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with CorpTax and Oracle a plus.

Experience:
?4 to 6 years of federal and state income tax experience.
?International tax planning experience.
?Large corporation or Big 4 tax department experience.
?Experience in preparing tax provision calculations including FAS 109 calculations.
?Sarbanes-Oxley 404 experience.
