AUTO COLLECTORNew South Federal Savings Bank has an immediate opening for an experienced collector.  Candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of three months in a collection environment. Candidate should have knowledge of Word, Excel, Email, and the Fair Debt Collection Act. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of payment processing using DFT4 and Western Union preferred.  Must be capable of working out payment plans with a customer. Must have average typing and calculator skills; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively to customers and employees; verify figures used in payoff quotes; ability to calculate delinquency on accounts; and ability deal with problems with irate customers using common sense. Will review accounts recommended for repossession, legal action and charge off and fill out the appropriate forms. Will review delinquency reports and make adjustments to maintain a consistent level of delinquency, will work queues and make collection calls to delinquent customers, work out payment arrangements, discuss extension options and /or repossession, and will send appropriate letters on delinquent accounts.
