Broker/ Dealer Sales Assistant

  Job Description Provides administrative support to Northern Trust Securities, Inc. (NTSI) brokers. Communicates daily with clients providing routine security information, execution of trades as directed by clients and brokers. Researches and resolves inquiries communicating resolution to appropriate parties.

Experience Required: 1-2 years related security industry experience.

 

Knowledge and Skill

?  Knowledge of various investment products i.e. stocks, bonds, mutual funds, equities and annuities, usually acquired through formal training or experience, to provide client investment related information

?  Series 7 and Series 63, registration required by the National Association of Securities Dealers and Illinois State Insurance license to offer annuities

?  Ability to utilize a personal computer and various software packages to provide word processing support

 

Major Duties

?  Provides administrative support to brokers by processing new account applications, obtaining necessary account documents, resolving inquiries, and handling account transfers.

?  Communicates daily with clients providing trade settlement figures, coordinating the delivery/payment of securities, and other routine requests.

?  Acts on behalf of the broker by purchasing and selling securities within scope of authority.

?  Answers incoming calls, handling requests or directing to appropriate parties.

?  Researches and resolves late payments, overdraft items, pending service inquiries, and communicates resolution to appropriate parties.

?  Acts as a resource to other staff members on the policies and procedures of the brokerage firm and regulatory bodies.

?  Provides necessary client services to walk-in clients, including the receipt of monies and securities.
