PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN-BESSEMER, ALABAMA-Work with the world's largest & best dialysis provider!

FMCNA is hiring PATIENT CARE TECHNICIANS for its facility in Bessemer, Alabama.

As a PCT with Fresenius Medical Care North America you will:

*Provide the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

*Be responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment.
Assist licensed nurse with pre and post dialysis patient assessments and their documentation.

*Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets.

*Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor.

*Assist with all emergency operational procedures.

*Initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and respond to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.

 

Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred, but not required.

Other requirements for this position include:

*Successfully completing a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.

*Successfully completing CPR Certification.

*Able to assist in lifting patients and equipment.

*Able to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short staffing or as required.

*Able to read and write in English.

*Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

*Successfully completing annual proficiency exams with a score of 80% or better.

A high school degree or G.E.D. required. Education in physical sciences and/or training in laboratory techniques preferred.
