Phlebotomist

Description:
1. Collects blood specimens from patients and instructs patients on collection of other specimens requested for analysis.
2. Prepares and labels collection containers based on specified test needs.
3. Separates, transfers and stores specimens as collected and prepares them to be distributed for analysis.
4. Prepares and arranges delivery of special specimens sent to proper reference laboratories.
5. Identifies stat processing requests and expedites the procedures.
6. Sort and distribute laboratory results to ensure they reach the proper destination.
7. Coordinate patient care with provider/lab/x-ray and reception to minimize patient wait time..

Qualifications:
1. One+ year(s) phlebotomy experience.
2. Good oral and written communication skills.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology.
4. Prefer graduate of Medical Assistant program or phlebotomy program..
