Licensed Practical Nurse - Per Diem (Genesis Staffing Services)

 

Description:

In conjunction with the ADN/Unit Director, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of nursing and basic physical assessment skills in the development of and implementation of individualized nursing care plans to ensure that the needs of the customers are met. He/she assists in the orientation of and supervision of nursing personnel, attends to the daily operations of the unit on a per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role. This position is work through Genesis Staffing Services which provides supplemental Staff to owned and operated Genesis Centers

Job Responsibilities:

Administers medication and/or treatment and documentation to customers. Responsible for clinical documentation related to customer activity. Counts and records class drug when beginning and ending shifts. Communicates pertinent data, assists physician in rounds and examination of customers, ensuring that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals? needs and rights.

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong oral and written communication skills as well as the proven ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions as necessary. Must possess understanding, patience and tact in dealing with customers? families and visitors.  Experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.

Required Education:

The Licensed Practical Nurse must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing and must be currently licensed by the Maryland State Board or Nursing.
