With the only nationwide veterinary laboratory network serving all 50 states, we provide diagnostic testing for an estimated 15,000 clients, which include standard animal hospitals, large animal practices, universities, and other government organizations. Our diagnostic spectrum includes over 300 different tests in the areas of chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, hematology, and microbiology, as well as tests specific to particular diseases. We do not conduct experiments on animals.

Currently, we have these positions available:

 

Data Entry (P/T, 3rd shift): Speedy (60+ wpm, 10-key by touch), accurate data entry specialists needed for high volume alpha/numeric data entry. Prefer candidate with 3rd shift experience (shifts start between 11pm and 12midnight). Experience in a clinical lab setting considered a plus.

 

Embedding Tech (F/T, days): Histology department seeks tech to receive specimens, properly orient and embed tissue in paraffin molds, perform hematoxylin and eosin staining, coverslipping, and distribution. Requires a neat, detail-oriented person, preferably with previous embedding experience or 2 years college education and science background, familiarity with medical terminology, great organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Schedule: Tue ? Sat, 6am-2:30pm.

 

Grossing Tech (P/T, mid-shift): Histology department seeking individual to trim tissue for block processing. Require a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in science and anatomy, ability to work with reagents and tissue according to protocol. Schedule: M, W, F  12:30pm ? 9:00pm. Starts early September.

 

Hematology Tech (Sat night, 3rd shift): Experienced hematology tech needed to edit hematology scattergrams and read blood smears/urinalysis. Good computer skills and experience in a high-volume clinical lab preferred. Ideal candidate will have a Med Tech background, ability to work in a high volume environment. Schedule is one night per week (Sat).
 


Parasitology Lab Assistants (F/T, 3rd shift): High school diploma or equivalent, basic lab experience (microbiology preferred), strong background in laboratory specimen management and handling, good communication and interpersonal skills, computer experience. Assistants will set up ova and parasite tests according to standard operating procedures. Vet techs/assts with experience performing fecal tests are encouraged to apply!

 

Parasitology Techs (F/T, 3rd shift): Position open for an experienced tech with the ability to read fecal direct preps and floatation tests for fecal ova and parasites. Requires 1-2 years experience setting up and reading fecal ova and parasite tests, excellent specimen management and organizational skills, and basic computer competence. Experience in a high-volume clinical lab setting strongly preferred. Vet techs/assistants with experience performing fecals are encouraged to apply!


Specimen Processors (F/T, P/T, 3rd shift): Opportunities for detail-oriented, quick-learners with a background in science or experience in a high-volume clinical lab setting. Require individuals with the ability to work in a very fast-paced lab environment, good data entry skills. Duties include sorting, scanning, accessioning samples, entering data, possible aliquoting of specimens, work with centrifuge. Prefer candidates with prior 3rd shift experience (shifts start approximately 10pm or 11pm).
