Responsibilities :

Responsibilities include drawing patient blood samples, processing blood/body fluid specimens entering the lab and distributing appropriate specimens for testing to laboratory in a timely manner for the Laboratory Department. Prepare appropriate specimens for reference lab couriers, maintaining adequate stock levels on drawing carts/trays/drawing room, as well as a clean working environment in the processing and drawing areas, and properly utilize the lab computer system (Meditech) and other lab equipment. Other responsibilities include greeting patients and answering phones. These tasks must be performed with a high degree of confidentiality and demonstrate effective customer service. Must perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Education/Certificates/Licenses: High school diploma or GED. State of California Phlebotomy License, PBT. (Until April 15, 2005 certification eligible is acceptable.)

Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
