JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP of Medical Operations, and working with members of the Zone
leadership team, directs consistent implementation of medical policies and programs assigned, ensuring the delivery of affordable, efficient, responsible and accountable occupational healthcare of the highest quality to business, industry and patients within assigned zone within assigned region.
Zone is CA, AZ, Nevada and Oregon.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Supervises and directs medical activities of zone, and coordinates activities of RMD's, AMD's and ARMD's with those of other disciplines to ensure the highest quality of medical care is consistently offered to Concentra's patients.
' Establishes and maintains relationships with physicians to ensure quality care concurrent with Concentra philosophy and protocols.
' Participates in establishing optimal staffing levels for assigned Centers, development of budget supporting delivery of medical services, and new business development for established and new clients.
' Reviews clinical activities of zone and recommends changes in or better utilization of facilities, services, and staff.
' Oversees medical practices of zone and recommends procedures, treatments or other courses of action to assist medical staff in achieving optimal medical outcomes following process and content management.
' Participates in the development of Best Practice Patterns and implements and monitors medical peer review process.
' Oversees the distribution and interpretation of the provider management reports for the zone. Monitors trends in the reports and institutes corrective action, where necessary, to ensure consistency in application of the medical model and optimal case outcomes.
' Interprets and administers personnel policies in conjunction with HR, and provides for training programs for medical staff.
' Works closely with zone leadership team members to ensure financial success of the markets and zone, optimal clinical support for medical and therapy providers, and the highest level of customer/patient service.
' Participates in the processes of interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, transfers, promotions, salary reviews, and disciplinary action of all medical providers, as well as other employees at the zone, market and center level.
' Directly supervises and supports the Regional and Area Medical Directors in Zone.
' Maintains clinical core competency.

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
' Active medical license in the state(s) of jurisdiction, as required for treatment and/or business necessity.
' Medical degree (MD, DO) from accredited institution.
' Board Certification, preferably in the area of Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
' 10 or more years of directly applicable experience in both occupational health and medical management preferred. Must have prior experience supervising more than 20 providers.
