Clinical Application Software Engineer

Currently we are looking for someone to fill the requirement below:

 

IT Clinical Support Specialist

 

The specialist shall be assigned problem tickets for applications.  They shall work closely with the user to troubleshoot diagnosis and resolve the problems reported.  The specialist shall work closely with the tier 3 support teams within the other Office of Information departments.  The Support specialist shall distribute packages and patches with supporting documentation and provides functional and technical support service for these releases.  In addition, the support specialist serves as a member of the software development project team.

They shall work on the team to:

 

?  Serve as subject matter experts to provide input into requirements gathering on usability, supportability, feedback on testing plans, documentation and other project related artifacts.

?  Ensure the smooth transition from development to application support which includes:

?  Help desk tool setup

?  Requesting and ensuring that the knowledge transfer to the application support staff occurs and the application support team is ready to support the application.

 

Minimum/General Knowledge and Experience: This position requires a minimum of six (6) years experience, of which at least four years must be specialized.  Specialized knowledge and experience includes software development or software applications support (preferably in a healthcare system) utilizing Java2EE, relational database access/management (Oracle preferred); experience with software development and help desk tools; preferably Eclipse/MyEclipse, Rational Tools (ex. Clear Quest, Clear Case, etc.), database tools (ex. Toad and PL-SQL),  and Remedy Help Desk application.  General experience includes healthcare information software application support or development, following various software implementation and deployment models, as well as communication and team skills. Knowledge and experience with developing web applications using Java, J2EE, EJB, and JSP is a plus.  Knowledge and experience with Service Oriented Architecture, Web Services and BEA WebLogic Server is a plus. Knowledge of Legacy software is a plus. Legacy is the suite of hospital information systems applications currently implemented.  Knowledge of project management tools, like Primavera Project Manager, is a plus. 

 

Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems is a must.

 

Minimum Education:  A Bachelor?s degree in Clinical Specialty, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline. With a Master?s Degree, four years general experience of which at least two years must be specialized. Applicants who do not meet the minimum education requirements but fulfill knowledge requirements will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
