AIDS Healthcare Foundation is searching for a Full Time Data Analyst to work in our in Linn House Administrative Office: 1001 N. Martel Ave., in the City of West Hollywood, California. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accesses multiple medical/financial/administrative databases and provide ongoing reporting that supports information-based decision making, measures the execution of strategy, and identifies opportunities for improving existing processes.
- Confers with the persons requesting database services and/or reports to identify needs, requirements or problems in order to produce an accurate data gathering and reporting environment.
- Assists in the development of reports that determine basic characteristics such as origin and report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of report.
- Recommends establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information.
- Demonstrates experience and skills in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) like SQL Server and writing complex queries in SQL.
- Programs applications in Microsoft Access and Visual Basic.
- Supports business functions of enrollment invoicing, member services database support, claims system (EZ Cap) payment and MAS 90 integration accounts payable support.
- Document data base configuration and update documentation with each change.
- Document policies and procedures required to support system enhancements.
- Prepares various reports required by funding sources, fiscal intermediaries, medical staff, and management on a routine and ad hoc basis.
- Prepares various financial reports required by funding sources, including but not limited to Medi-Cal cost and utilization reports, the Department of Health Services (DHS), managed care filings, and other external financial reports.
- Works regularly with management, physicians, other AHF programmers, and consultants to determine, interpret and program solutions.
- Works continuously to improve efficiency of programs and process in use.
- Interacts with multiple Foundation (e.g., Finance, Medicine, Nursing, Case Management, etc.) personnel to ensure open lines of communication and compliance with established procedures.
- Supports the enrollment invoicing process by maintaining the appropriate data bases and analyzes the data for accuracy.
- Collaborates with the Department of Health Services to ensure data transmission systems remain open and efficiently running.
- Prepares and submits the monthly state invoice for Positive Healthcare.
- Develops and assists in the maintenance of Managed Care databases.
- Interacts with the Information Technology Department in order to facilitate information flow and business solutions.
Participation in AHF Meetings/Committees
Attends AHF meetings as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer/Software Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
- Ability to summarize analytical results graphically and numerically in Crystal Reports, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient and demonstrated use of database reporting tools for data manipulation, data extraction, merging of large, complex data from variety of sources.
- Prior experience with health-related databases/Logician medical database preferred
