Data & Application Specialist

Description: This position is considered a subject matter expert on data and client applications and is a critical link between all internal business units. Working in a fast paced dynamic environment, the Data and Applications Specialists will consult and guide analysts on complex data or delivery problem resolution.

This position defines the needs for training, develops programs and presents training material to internal users. This position will also "train the trainers" to facilitate knowledge sharing across the business units. This position functions as an expert in researching, resolving and documenting complex client inquiries. Provides expert knowledge and creative solutions to a-typical client or internal business needs. Leads development activities for data, business applications and products.

This position will primarily support the following applications:
Fact data and applicable product applications
Dimension data and applicable product applications
Patient data with applicable product applications
Healthcare Claims data and applicable product applications
Development (Business Transformation Activities)
Phast product line and applicable product applications

Plan, develop and implement a comprehensive training program for assigned data / application assets for internal departments. Establish and enforce a mechanism to measure the effectiveness of training as it relates to the spread of knowledge across the department. Assist Product Management and Service in providing data / application asset content for client training when needed.
Analysis/Research

Define impact analysis for data or delivery quality issues and performs analysis in conjunction with data or delivery analysts (when appropriate). Lead customer inquiry process and own resolution of assigned inquiries. Provide impact analysis when needed to assist the Service Teams with special client requests and Product Management/Marketing with Field Force Advisor memos. For specialist aligned large development projects their percentage in Analysis/Research is allocated to Business Development.

Qualifications:
Education: minimum a Bachelor's degree

Experience: minimum 5-7 years

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications
Data processing and client application courses (internal or external)
Microsoft office and computer mainframe /open system applications
Extensive production, customer service, or data management experience preferred within the healthcare industry.
Demonstrates ability to use proper judgment in escalating issues and independent decision-making skills when appropriate. Develops work activities without the need for close supervision. Exercises critical thinking, reasoning, deduction, inference and accurate conclusions.
