Position Description

We are currently recruiting for a Security Engineer, rresponsible for 24x7x365 operations support for a Cisco/Windows environment to install, configure, and maintain supporting network devices and data center in support of business processing requirements.  Responsible for all network security equipment to include routers, firewalls, switches, hubs, load balancers, data and voice circuits, and web services.  Proactively monitor essential network activities and apply resolution to potential problems.  This position will manage all contracts and service agreements associated with network security equipment, such as routers, firewalls, circuits etc. Provide hardware, operating system and software upgrades to network security equipment to ensure they support the day-to-day business operation requirements

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

This candidate must have experience with the following: 

? Responsible for the day-to-day network security of MedicAlert Foundation.

? Develop logical secure network configurations to support the business needs

? Configure and install network security equipment and devices

? Manage and administration of all network security devices and equipment

? Protect against unauthorized network intrusions, both internal and external.

? Recommends solutions that require the definition of the physical structure, data security and data  backup/recovery specifications

? Provides highly technical leadership in identifying and implementing new technologies to meet  business unit strategic objectives

? Develop RFP documents for equipment and services

? Performance and Capacity: Perform network monitoring/tuning, and create alerting policies

? Develop plans for expansion and future enhancements

? Recommend improved data access methods, and data storage procedures

? Enforcement of service-level agreements and monitoring of circuits

? Ddesign and Implementation of all edge routing policies

? Create and maintain firewall policies and load balance policies

? Assist with creating and maintaining VLANs and internal routing policies

? Creating standard operating procedures and maintaining documentation for all policies

? Will be required to negotiate with vendors and consultants

? Assist in the mentoring of lower level engineers and contribute to a team player environment

 

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology. Five (7)+ years related experience. Additional experience may substitute for the required education. Experience in Health Insurance/ Health Care industry is a plus.

? CCNA Certification required, CISSP or CCIE would be a plus

? Experience working with SOA, XML, and web infrastructures

? Solid understanding of systems and network protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, LDAP, SSL

? Telecom experience (Nortel, Cisco MCS) preferred

? Strong experience with Cisco equipment and HP Openview

? Strong experience with PIX or Cisco ACS

? Strong experience with VPN, frame relay, OCx

? Strong routing knowledge, including BGP and OSPF

? Strong switching skills, experience with VLAN

? Strong firewall and network traffic analysis skills

? Demonstrable network design, implementation, DMZ, IDM, wireless, and security skills

? LAN/WAN, Infrastructure, Security, VOIP, SAN, NAS

? Experience in distributed environment related topologies, protocols

? HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley recommended
