Job Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst will assist in analyzing, designing, and improving business processes, collaborating successfully with the healthcare business unit representatives and with IS in the design and development, QA, and deployment phases of projects. This position will play a role in applying healthcare industry knowledge, understanding our managed healthcare business, incorporating these needs into a project scope (size, cost, and business case), and ensuring that the overall business requirements are thoroughly understood and supported across the organization.

 

Responsibilites: Define and document business and functional requirements for new products and system features, plus design enhancements to existing system functions in support of national operations Understand and apply knowledge of the complexities and interdependencies of business processes across applications and departments Support the speedy resolution of operational and processing issues impacting MHN customers Coordinate communication between National Operations and other departments to formulate strategiesAssess resource capacity requirements for business unit leads, testing and programming.Serve as point of contact for questions and clarifications around national operations business requirements.Identify and resolve problems, which result in policy, accreditation standard or regulatory standard non-compliance and inefficient delivery of services.Assure all clinical operations documentation, operational activities, system support and data collection and reporting is consistent with accreditation and regulatory guidelines.Establish and facilitate routine coordination and interaction with Regional Office staff.  Complete, as needed, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of national operations compliance with standards for performance, quality, customer service, etc.  Provide continuous evaluation of processes and make recommendations regarding changes and new workload, increased efficiency and/or impacts from other operational areas.  Maintain an effective communication flow and establish a forum for two-way communication with other MHN departments both within and outside of national operations.  Assist with projects as assigned.  This includes but is not limited to, writing/reviewing company policies and procedures, working on the development of computer systems applicable to medical management, working on the proposal to retain current business and working on new business development.  Assist in budget preparation and management.Gather, display, analyze and report statistics as needed. 

 



Education:


Bachelor’ degree in Information Systems, Finance/Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Experience:Experience developing functional requirements and documentation for technical staff Experience in data process modeling/mapping Experience utilizing data mapping or extraction tools Minimum three to five years experience in the Workers’ Compensation or Managed Care Field


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Understanding of PC hardware, software and how networks work Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, Project and Windows operating systems Requires excellent communication, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills Must be a team player with team leadership experience Must be a highly motivated self-starter who possesses strong attention to detail and a quantitative/business approach to problem solving
