Job Description:

-To provide a high level of education and technical support for B&L vitreoretinal surgery products. This highly trained specialist plays a leading role within a support organization that is critical to the growth of the company?s surgical business worldwide. The Ophthalmic Technician/Equip. Applications Specialist (EAS) reports to the Team Lead. The EAS is responsible for applications training of physicians, nurses, and technicians throughout the U.S. Responsible for follow-up training, troubleshooting, and problem solving. Specifically focused on providing expert assistance to surgical centers, universities, and hospitals. The EAS will perform field upgrades of equipment as needed. They are responsible for assisting sales reps in teaching institutions and follow up. Work with Surgical Equipment Specialists and Surgical Product Reps to ensure productivity and efficiency throughout the customer base. Attend/assist at wet labs and attend meetings as necessary. The EAS is expected to execute all administrative and written duties in a timely fashion. Key Responsibilities: In-service all anterior & posterior surgical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment as required. Install new equipment at accounts. Identify new sales opportunities and provide the leads to the sales personnel. Assist hospital and ASC technicians, nurses and physicians with ophthalmic needs. Act as support for the Surgical Equipment Specialist, Surgical Product Representative and Vitreoretinal Specialist to ensure that equipment evaluations run effectively and powerfully. Provide product knowledge and procedural knowledge to support sales personnel in the field. Provide superior customer service. Wetlabs/Meetings.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Ideal candidates will have appropriate Ophthalmic certification combined with a minimum of 2 years of cataract and/or vitreoretinal surgical experience.
-Preferred experience; Nursing degree, C.O.T., C.O.M.T. with significant experience in cataract phacoemuslification surgery.
-Extensive travel is required.
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a pleasant, responsive attitude to be highly effective in a clinical teaching environment.
