Infection Control Practitioner

Provide surveillance, prevention, and control of infection throughout the organization (hospital, home health, and ambulatory care services); initiate infection control measures as directed by Infection Control Committee. Knowledge of infection control strategies; knowledge of CDC, NIOSH, Arizona Department of Health, FDA, and OSHA requirements/standards is a must; knowledge of performance improvement, the use of statistical tools for analysis of aggregate data and work processing spreadsheet applications required; good organizational and written and verbal communication skills are essential.


Position requires certification in infection control; degree in microbiology, public health or hospital epidemiology desirable; related clinical health degree considered; certification in health care quality preferred. CIC certification. Minimum 5 yrs. direct experience in microbiology, public health, or epidemiology; infection control experience highly desirable; CIC certification preferred.
