Surgical Specialty Tech

Overview : The incumbent will serve as an assistant to the professional and technical staff during surgical procedures. Duties include but are not limited to; basic patient care, equipment and supply maintenance and knowledge and practice of aseptic technique.

Responsibilities :

Assists with patient care (prepping and positioning)

Assists with room turnover.

Will serve as a resource person in designated surgical specialty ie: Urology, ortho, etc.

Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.

Qualifications :

Knowledge and/or experience with instrumentation and supplies related to surgical specialty. Ability to work rapidly in a team effort. Effective and positive human relation skills. Able to lift up to 50#, bend and stand for extended periods of time.
