Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities. The VC conducts recruitment, retention and assignment of volunteers. The VC spends approximately 50 ? 75% of the time in the field calling on community-based groups where prospective volunteers may be located. The VC also conducts volunteer training programs on a regular basis and is responsible for all applicable volunteer compliance with Medicare requirements.
REQUIREMENTS1. Bachelor?s degree in Human Services, Education or Management field preferred.
2. Minimum of one year experience in Human Services or as a volunteer or social worker, in supervision of paid or volunteer staff; Hospice experience preferred.
3. Ability to organize and develop volunteer Hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs. Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees.
4. Ability to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate Volunteer Services Plan to include recruitment, training, placement, and retention of volunteers to meet patient and organizational needs, and all associated administrative responsibilities.
5. Must be computer literate.
6. Understand and articulate the Hospice philosophy.
