Qualifications: Must possess a valid California Pharmacist license  Must have knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy operation principles, standards, Federal and State laws and regulations. Must possess knowledge, skills, and ability in pharmacy business management, customer problem resolution, leadership and supervision. Must have proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Previous experience, or courses completed, in pharmacy business management or related subjects preferred. Ability to extract pertinent information from patients, or other sources, to apply to the patient's medical management plan. Proficient in various databases and other computer usage. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK.


Preferred Qualifications: B.S. in Pharmacy and Pharm D. preferred.


Duties: Formulates, recommends, implements, and monitors the provision of pharmacy services and resource utilization. Prepares special reports to review pharmacy locations' progress. Develops and implements service improvement innovations Establishes departmental policies and procedures Manages departmental personnel and operational practices to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations, J.C.A.H.O., O.S.H.A., Divisional and Departmental policies and procedures Develops and recommends the departmental operating budget (payroll and non payroll) Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate staff. Works with Human Resources in handling employee grievances. Responsible for the preparation and assignment of department staff's work schedules Directly or indirectly supervises all department personnel in accordance with established standards, laws, and procedures regarding pharmaceutical dispensing, inventory storage and control, security and cash handling Prepares and/or approves the biweekly payroll. Monitors personnel utilization in accordance with operating budget. Provides resolution to service complaints by Health Plan members, other Kaiser health care professionals, department heads, and employees. Performs the duties of all subordinate employees and other duties as required. Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.


Notes: Work schedule to vary as required. Position requires occasional travel for meetings, trainings, etc.
