Pharmacy Ancillary / located in Tustin

GREAT OPPORTUNITY. PHARMACY ANCILLARY Under direction of the Pharmacists, perform routine, non-professional pharmacy functions in connection with the typing of drug orders, stocking of pharmaceutical supplies, receiving and unpacking incoming drug shipments, and filling of drug orders. A general knowledge of common pharmaceutical terms and supplies is necessary. Process third party payment prescriptions. Must be flexible and work different schedules to meet customer and store needs. May work in other areas of the store as required.

? Access, input and retrieve information on pharmacy computer system in order to create labels for prescriptions.

? Check incoming prescriptions for completeness of all required information needed for processing.

? Communicate with doctors' offices for prescription and refill authorizations. Maintain customer records. Access and retrieve customer information as needed.

? Sell prepared prescriptions, insulin, insulin syringes, and other medical supplies to customers in accordance with established procedures.

? As allowed by federal regulations, price, receive, and unpack incoming stock and place on shelves.

? Assist with the tracking of inventory of pharmaceutical stock. Notify pharmacy management of low stock levels for reordering. Stock shelves.

? Clean pharmacy equipment. Responsible for keeping pharmacy clean and orderly.

? Process sales and provide customers with courteous, friendly, and efficient service. Complete all signature logs as required.

? Respond to General Office inquiries (verbal and written) regarding third party prescriptions. Input and maintain information on the pharmacy computer system as allowed by pharmacy laws.

Refer inquiries on OTC products to the Pharmacist.





HOURS:

Monday through Friday (no weekends needed) - 10:30 am to 7:30 pm and / or 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm



PART OR FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE

Specific Knowledge: General knowledge of common pharmaceutical terms and supplies; thorough understanding and knowledge of Longs' PPS computer system; knowledge of and the ability to follow all applicable Longs pharmacy guidelines; thorough knowledge of consultation procedures; competent working knowledge of participating local third party plans.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills.
