Staff Pharmacist

Overview : Full time, evening position - 1PM to 11PM.

Responsibilities :

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to individuals within the medication use process (selecting, prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medications). This position performs comprehensive assessments and analysis in collaboration with integrated team members in meeting the healthcare and educational needs of the patient. The Staff Pharmacist oversees the activities of the pharmacy technicians, coordinating workflow and checking all medications prepared for patients. Additionally, the Staff Pharmacist is accountable for on-going evaluation and documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care delivered to patients of Banner Health System. The Staff Pharmacist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served while maintaining the ideals of Service Excellence. The Staff Pharmacist must also possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements and provide pharmaceutical care based on those needs.

Qualifications :

Requires (or eligible) pharmacy licensure in the State of Arizona and a degree in Pharmacy (advanced degree preferred) from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Prefer hospital pharmacy experience. Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of Banner Health System staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly pharmacy system software, Microsoft applications and Pyxis.
