Director, Quality Improvement Initiatives

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association is seeking a dynamic, well-organized, enthusiastic, self-motivated person to direct the overall implementation activities necessary to achieve the quality health improvement program goals, including Stroke, CAD and all other modules. Position is located in Tempe, AZ and covers Arizona and New Mexico.  Responsibilities: identify, cultivate and maintain key market stakeholder relationships impacting program goals, such as local businesses, coalitions, hospital systems or health plans. Manage accredited and non-accredited workshops in primary area; market and implement the program including the Patient Management Tool. Execute all necessary pre-work activities required to launch all future Get With the Guidelines modules in the assigned market including: the oversight and execution of ASTP, JCAHO Primary Stroke Centers and similar programs as necessary. Implement customer relationship management including the use of Siebel.



BA in Health Education, Nursing or related field plus experience

- 2 to 3 years related hospital experience: clinical or quality improvement; non-profit and/or health care delivery experience a plus

- Previous project management experience and experience building and managing relationships with external alliances

- Knowledge of cardiac and/or stroke care, group process and group dynamics

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2000 applications as well as oral and written communications and evaluations

- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
