Mental Health Registered Nurse

Baldwin County Mental Health Center (BCMHC) is a publicly funded, non-profit, community mental health center located in the heart of beautiful Fairhope, Alabama. In operation over 30 years, BCMHC provides services to the mentally ill children and adults from nine locations within the county including, outpatient services, day treatment, substance abuse programs, in-home therapy and educational programs and school-based curriculum.

 

Currently, BCMHC has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse in our children's department. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors in Nursing and have a current Alabama Nursing License in good standing. Previous mental health experience preferred but not required. Candidate will be required to travel between three locations within Baldwin County providing medical services to special needs children between the ages of 5-18 years old.

 

Specific duties include administration and evaluation of medications and their effects, communication with on site pharmacist in the management of indigent drug programs and participation in diagnostic nomenclature and related behavioral/personality descriptions. The Candidate will function independently from direct supervision with his/her own patient load comprised of approximately 14 patients per day. The candidate must feel confident in his/her abilities to make decisions without immediate availability of the supervising MD.

BCMHC hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with closings daily from 12:00pm-1:00pm for lunch.
