Women's and Children Services manager

The successful candidate will support the Director of the unit in managing and coordinating clinical operations in order to provide quality direct patient care to the maternal child health population, in addition to ensuring all aspects of documentation, care planning and patient care delivery meet regulatory requirements. Emphasis will be on participating in performance improvement activities, providing input to the director on development of the strategic plan and initiatives, and ensuring that daily staffing needs are met for the assigned unit. Key functions will also include monitoring staffing patterns to assure that skill mix and nursing care hours effectively meet individual patient care requirements.

 

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery and Family Care, along with 2 years of nursing management experience. CA RN license and BLS certification are a must, as is ACLS and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire. A thorough knowledge of nursing theory, including current medications/treatments and psychosocial/emotional care is essential, as is the ability to apply the theory to patient care. BSN preferred.
